Any-Body Month Preview: What is Aqua Fit?

Next week as a part of Any-Body Month, we will be giving you the opportunity to get wet and try out Aqua Fit at the University Pool.

It’s not just for old ladies! If you’ve not tried it before aqua fit is a fun activity, which is great for your all round fitness and well being. It’s also low impact and the cushioning effect of the water protects your joints.

You can get as much out of it as you want to really. With the water supporting your body movements can be taken further and the resistance of the water also means that your muscles can work harder without being as tiring as some other activities and sports.

The buoyancy that you get from the water gets muscles that you don’t use as much working out, giving you a better toning effect all over.

And saving the best bit until last… Aquafit is usually done to music, so you can sing your way to fitness as well!

Get wet and get fit = aqua fit!
