 Despite the appalling weather conditions on the day (rain, rain, and guess what – more rain!) a few brave souls still made it over to Jubilee Sports Centre to try out the first session of the Goalball Club, which was thankfully indoors. The Any-Body Club is running a fun, free, and hopefully fantastic event this weekend – goalball! Taking place this Saturday (23rd) at Jubilee Campus Sports Centre, the event is, as always, open to everybody and any-body, offering an opportunity for people to try a new sport or brush up on old skills in a fun relaxed environment! For the second Any-Body Club event we served up a great session of tennis at the University Park Sports Centre. The session which was led by local tennis coach Martyn Jones (from Active Ace), was made up of 14 students and some very keen representatives from the University Tennis Club.

Here’s a some good news that we just had to share with you…. hot off the press!

Goalball is coming to the county in the guise of a newly created club – the Nottinghamshire Sheriffs. A joint venture between the University of Nottingham and the Nottinghamshire Royal Society for the Blind (NRSB), the club will be opening its doors to new members in October.
